THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY:

A result of succession planning my client has an exciting new vacancy for a fairly hands-on Technical Director / Engineering Director to lead the R&D engineering function which specialises in small-quantity manufacture / production of proof of concept microelectronics systems prototypes. Emphasis will be on UHF RF engineering electronic system architecture and design.

Reporting directly to the COO and with a hotline to the Chairman, this appointment offers the ability to have significant influence within a small and effective company commercializing its technology to several markets and applications. The appointment brings with it the ability to provide and use a wide range of experiences and knowledge, while at the same time working with knowledgeable and creative employees.

Duties will include:

* Provide leadership, collaboration, technical expertise/support, and communication within the business and with industry partners

* Create structures and develop the team as resourcing allows to enable the commercialisation of new applications, products and developing new Intellectual Property and know how.

* Engineering expertise (including UHF RF Engineering, Mechanical design, Process and Software)

* Operations and Customer Service (in conjunction with Manufacturing & Commercial dept) supporting customer prototype evaluation activities
